Toronto / Our home city

Web design, Toronto.

PerfectPixels is based in Toronto. We design and build websites, commerce, applications and identities for organisations across the city — from independent businesses to established firms — and for clients well beyond it.

01 Working with Toronto

Global-calibre work, close to home.

  1. 01

Toronto’s audiences are among the most diverse anywhere. We design for many languages, devices and expectations, and treat accessibility (including AODA obligations for Ontario organisations) as a baseline.

  2. 02

Local search matters to Toronto businesses. We build technically sound sites with clean structure, structured data and content written for real people — the foundation that local visibility depends on.

  3. 03

Working in the same time zone keeps collaboration simple: workshops, reviews and launches happen during your working day.

02 Web design in Toronto

Built in Toronto, for Toronto.

Toronto is Canada’s largest city, with nearly 2.8 million residents (2021 Census) and one of the most varied economies anywhere: finance and professional services in the Financial District, technology and creative companies from King West to Liberty Village, healthcare and research along University Avenue, and thousands of independent businesses in neighbourhoods from Kensington Market to the Danforth.

It is also one of the most competitive places to be found online. Whatever you do, someone nearby does it too — so a Toronto website has to be clearer, faster and more useful than the alternatives, and be built so search engines understand exactly what you offer and where. Our guide to SEO for Toronto businesses covers what that takes.

Whatever the business, the foundations are the same: a fast site that works on every screen, built to WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility — Ontario’s AODA website requirements apply to organisations with 50 or more employees — with clear structure and structured data so search engines understand what you do and where you work. Our guide to local SEO and Google Maps explains how your website and Google Business Profile work together.

06 FAQ

Web design Toronto: questions, answered.

01Are you a Toronto web design company?

Yes. PerfectPixels is an independent design and technology studio based in downtown Toronto. We work with organisations across the city and the GTA, and with clients well beyond it.

02Should a Toronto business use WordPress or a custom build?

It depends on who updates the site and what it connects to. Custom WordPress suits teams that publish often and want to manage their own content; a fully custom build suits sites that are part of a product, need complex integrations or must handle unusual scale. Many businesses use both.

03Does my Toronto business need an accessible website?

Under Ontario’s AODA, businesses and non-profits with 50 or more employees must make their public websites meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA, with two exceptions (live captions and pre-recorded audio description). Smaller organisations aren’t covered by that rule, but an accessible site reaches more customers and is easier for everyone to use. We design and build to WCAG 2.2 AA as a baseline.

04Can we redesign our website without losing our search rankings?

Yes, if the move is planned. A redesign should keep what search engines already value: every existing URL mapped to its new page with a 301 redirect, titles, descriptions and structured data carried over, and Search Console checked after launch for errors.

05Will a new website help my business show up in Toronto searches?

It is one part of it. Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence, so your Google Business Profile, your reviews and your website all contribute. A fast site with clear service pages, accurate contact details and structured data gives the rest a strong foundation.
